The FPF Philanthropic Objective

It has been said that life is a series of stages – Learning. Earning. Returning. There are some in Rockhampton who are within the Learning stage, many are in the Earning stage and a few are in the Returning stage. Nevertheless, all of us at Rockhampton are very aware of how Learning has been beneficial to ourselves, family, close ones, community, economy, country and even the world. We are all also very aware of how fortunate we were in being able to successfully navigate the Learning stage of our career – partly through hard work, but also due to the fortunate environments we grew up in and the economic assistance that was provided by family, friends, governments and scholarships. The Fitzroy Philanthropic Fund was established to assist those in our communities who, through no fault of their own and due to reasons that they cannot resolve, are unable to attain an education at a level which they aspire.

FPF considers requests from individuals and organizations to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people (0-22 years) to reach their educational and social potential. The goal is to achieve one or more of following outcomes for successful applicants:

  • School readiness
  • Retention in education or training
  • Access and opportunity
