The Fitzroy Philanthropic Fund (FPF) was established as a registered Non Profit Organisation in Japan in 2015. It is funded by donations from the principals and colleagues of Rockhampton Management.
The FPF focuses on meeting the educational needs of individuals in Japan and Hong Kong who due to circumstances which they cannot easily resolve, are unable to attain an education level to which they aspire.
The objectives of the FPF align with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
“It has been said that life is a series of stages – Learning. Earning. Returning. There are some in Rockhampton who are within the Learning stage, many are in the Earning stage and a few are in the Returning stage. Nevertheless, all of us at Rockhampton are very aware of how Learning has been beneficial to ourselves, family, close ones, community, economy, country and even the world. We are all also very aware of how fortunate we were in being able to successfully navigate the Learning stage of our career – partly through hard work, but also due to the fortunate environments we grew up in and the economic assistance that was provided by family, friends, governments and scholarships.
The Fitzroy Philanthropic Fund was established to assist those in our communities who, through no fault of their own and due to reasons that they cannot resolve, are unable to attain an education at a level which they aspire.”
— Eric Forday, Founder
Education is the first step in the cycle of LEARN, EARN, RETURN. By increasing the access and opportunities for individuals to LEARN, we hope to enhance their potential to EARN a decent living and RETURN to society in greater proportions, setting up a virtuous cycle.
“Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to the change the world.”

Education is the key to a better future
We believe education has the potential to empower individuals with the confidence, knowledge, skills and opportunity to realise their full potential economically and socially as productive and engaged members of society. Education has the power to transform the lives of individuals, communities and nations by breaking down barriers for social mobility and cultivating attitudes to address the interconnected global challenges the world is facing today.
Giving back to our local communities
We support giving back to the communities that have nurtured us and enabled us to flourish. Our projects will initially focus on Japan and Hong Kong, the two locations where Rockhampton has offices and team members based.
Direct interaction with our beneficiaries
While the FPF will support individuals and organizations through financial scholarships and grants, we recognize the value of the human capital that Rockhampton team members can also contribute. Crafting interactive programs that can draw on professional and life experiences of our colleagues at Rockhampton will be a key way for us to engage with our beneficiaries and contribute to lifelong learning.
